Nova Motorsport, the emerging powerhouse in the global motorsport and specialist tyre sector, has marked a significant milestone by acquiring Camac, Portugal’s esteemed national tyre manufacturer. This acquisition is a key component of Nova Motorsport’s strategic growth, building on its recent acquisition of the Avon Motorsport and Avon Racing brands. This move not only enhances Nova Motorsport’s production capabilities but also solidifies its position as the primary supplier of Avon-branded motorsport and racing tyres globally.

Camac, headquartered in Palmeira, Portugal, is recognized for its substantial annual production capacity of over half a million tyres and its longstanding reputation in the motorsport and specialist tyre market. The integration of Camac under the Nova Motorsport umbrella represents a strategic enhancement of Nova Motorsport’s manufacturing prowess and its commitment to leading the motorsport tyre industry.

Operating from within the European Union, Camac’s facilities are strategically positioned to efficiently serve Nova Motorsport’s diverse customer base across Europe and beyond.

James Weekley, the Commercial Director at Nova Motorsport, emphasized that acquiring Camac is crucial to the company’s global strategy. It not only fortifies Nova Motorsport’s stance as a dominant independent tyre manufacturer in the motorsport and specialist sectors but also expedites the development and distribution of the Avon Motorsport product lineup.

Nova Motorsport takes pride in employing a team of the industry’s most skilled technical experts and engineers. The team is currently engaged in recommissioning the newly acquired factory, supported by Nova Motorsport’s Global Technical Centre and headquarters in Holt, England. The company is dedicated to maintaining the highest quality and performance standards in its products while pushing the boundaries of tyre technology innovation.

Mike Lynch, Nova Motorsport’s Chief Technical Officer, highlighted the company’s unique ability to meet the needs of existing markets and clients, and to work closely with partners requiring custom tyre solutions. This acquisition positions Nova Motorsport to offer unprecedented levels of R&D speed, market responsiveness, and customer support.

With the addition of Camac, Nova Motorsport is set to redefine the motorsport tyre industry, supported by its significant production capabilities and an expanded team of technical and engineering experts. The company is committed to delivering innovative tyre performance and customer service to the worldwide motorsport community.

Nova Motorsport has also demonstrated its dedication to the motorsport community through three major multi-year partnerships, serving as the official tyre supplier for the RallyX championship across Europe, various Peter Auto historic racing series, and as a title sponsor and primary tyre supplier for the British Hillclimb Championship.
