Nissan Qashqai Soars Above London In Spectacular Truman Brewery Stunt

Nissan’s latest advertising campaign has captured the attention of Londoners and tourists alike, as the Japanese automaker unveiled an eye-catching installation to celebrate the launch of its new Qashqai. In a bold stunt, a supersized replica of the popular British-built SUV has been ‘parked’ atop the iconic 49-metre chimney at Truman Brewery, a 200-year-old landmark in East London’s trendy Shoreditch district.

Visible from afar, this fibreglass model of the Qashqai is an impressive one and a half times larger than the actual vehicle. Stretching 6.5 metres in length, 2.7 metres in width, and 2.4 metres in height, and weighing in at a substantial 750 kilograms, the oversized replica took approximately seven weeks to construct. The installation, which required two cranes and a team of 50 people to complete, is part of Nissan’s wider marketing campaign titled Elevate Your Urban Drive, aiming to showcase the refreshed Qashqai in a striking and unforgettable manner.

The installation will remain in place until Sunday, September 22, giving visitors and residents of London the opportunity to witness the larger-than-life Qashqai perched high above Brick Lane’s bustling streets. A Nissan spokesperson commented on the audacious display, stating, “We’re very proud of this British-built model and wanted to show it off for everyone to see. So, we figured why not park it in a place where it can’t be missed.”

Celebrating a New Chapter for the Nissan Qashqai
The new Qashqai, which has been a staple of Nissan’s lineup since its first production in 2006, continues to be manufactured in Sunderland, where more than four million units have been built to date. The latest iteration boasts updated exterior styling and a new N-Design grade, combining bold aesthetics with advanced technology. Inside, the Qashqai offers upgraded features and enhanced connectivity, including Google Built-in, bringing convenience and innovation to the forefront of the driving experience.

Powered by Nissan’s cutting-edge e-POWER system, the new Qashqai delivers the sensation of driving an electric vehicle without the need for recharging, offering a seamless and sustainable urban driving solution. This innovative powertrain, unique to Nissan, has already seen the production of around 140,000 e-POWER Qashqai units in the UK since 2022.

The choice of Truman Brewery as the stage for this gravity-defying stunt is symbolic, as the vibrant area of Shoreditch reflects the forward-thinking ethos of the Qashqai’s design and engineering. The campaign encourages urban dwellers to elevate their driving experiences with a vehicle that combines efficiency, style, and technology—qualities that have cemented the Qashqai’s place as a leader in the crossover segment.

For those keen to learn more about the new Qashqai and its innovative features, information is available on the Nissan UK website. Until then, passers-by in East London can enjoy the spectacle of this supersized SUV, hovering proudly above one of the city’s most beloved neighbourhoods.
