Nissan Leads The Uk Market With Two Top Five Best Sellers In 2024

In a year marked by significant challenges for the automotive industry, Nissan has emerged as a leader in the UK market, securing a remarkable achievement—two of its models, the British-built Qashqai and Juke, are ranked in the top five best-selling cars of 2024. With a total of 76,872 sales across both models, Nissan GB powered through the year with a 12.3% increase in overall car sales, culminating in 100,446 units sold and an impressive 5.14% market share.

This performance not only underlines the brand’s strength in the competitive automotive landscape but also reinforces the status of Nissan’s Sunderland manufacturing plant, which continues to hold the title of the UK’s all-time most successful vehicle production facility. Having produced over 11.5 million cars since its opening in 1986, the plant has rolled out half a million electrified vehicles in recent years, further solidifying its pivotal role in Nissan’s success.

Diana Torres, Managing Director of Nissan GB, reflected on the company’s triumphs: “2024 was a challenging year in our industry, so to have secured these results is a testament to the hard work of everyone in our organisation, including our dealer partners, and to the strength of our vehicle line-up. It gives us powerful momentum as we look forward to an exciting year ahead for our brand and, with new cars like the Ariya NISMO arriving imminently, I am confident we have the people, products and partners for success in 2025.”

The Qashqai and Juke’s success is no accident. These models have continued to evolve with the times, offering a perfect blend of innovative technology, modern styling, and practicality that UK buyers have come to expect. The refreshed versions of these crossovers, along with the debut of new variants of the X-Trail and Ariya, have kept Nissan at the forefront of consumer choice. In addition, the unveiling of the new Interstar van, available in both diesel and fully electric options, further solidifies Nissan’s commitment to providing versatile solutions for all types of customers.

Nissan’s success in 2024 was also acknowledged by the wider industry, with the company collecting no fewer than eight prestigious awards. These accolades highlighted the exceptional quality of Nissan’s vehicles, from their new and used offerings to their innovative powertrains. Even the company’s UK-based engineering teams were celebrated, with David Moss and his Cranfield-based research and development teams receiving a coveted Autocar award for their outstanding contributions to engineering excellence.

As 2025 approaches, Nissan’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. The brand is already gearing up for another exciting year, starting with the launch of its January sale event, running from January 8th to February 5th, offering exceptional deals across its full range of models.
