14 sep 2006 Reinhard Kuenstler, Director, Jaguar and Land Rover Overseas Operations is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Daniel as Managing Director, Jaguar and Land Rover South Africa. He succeeds Thomas Viehweg who from November 1st onwards will join Volvo as Regional President, Central Europe based in Cologne, Germany.

Daniel was formerly the Worldwide Sales and Supply Manager for Jaguar and Land Rover and is looking forward to his new role.
Andrew Daniel started his career in International Finance, Banking and Accountancy. In 1984 he joined Land Rover and fulfilled various roles in Sales Finance, Warranty and Dealer Business Operations within the company.
In 1994 he moved to Rover Cars Sales Finance covering pricing, dealer and consumer incentives. In 1996 he returned to Land Rover as Finance Controller for the UK National Sales Company with special projects in Marketing.
In 1999 Daniel was appointed to the position of Commercial Director, Government and Military Operations dealing with the UK Ministry of Defence and various other military operations including those in Malaysia and Thailand.
In 2000 he joined Land Rover Russia as Managing Director to build up the local operation and establish a dedicated dealer network. He successfully grew the Land Rover market from 600 to 6000 vehicles per annum.
In 2004, he introduced Jaguar into the Russian market maximising Jaguar, Land Rover and Ford practises and ensuring brand focus for both Jaguar and Land Rover. In 2005 he was appointed to his current position as Worldwide Sales and Supply Manager.
Daniel speaks French and some German and Russian. His hobbies include golf, tennis, travel, food and wine. He is married with one child and currently lives in the UK.
