As the Fleet Safety Awards entry period draws to a close, MasterDrive has announced a final surprise for participants: a lucky draw for a R2000 voucher. Every entrant who submitted their application between 2 May and the upcoming deadline of 4 October will be automatically entered into this exciting draw, which will be conducted at the final Awards ceremony.

Eugene Herbert, CEO of MasterDrive, expressed his gratitude to the partners who have made this year’s Awards entry phase a success. “Thanks to early entry prizes, the addition of a new award category, and now the introduction of a lucky draw, this has been one of the most eventful entry periods yet. We’re thrilled to add this final surprise—a lucky draw for a R2000 voucher at the Awards ceremony,” Herbert remarked.

For those looking to participate, there is still time to enter before midnight on 4 October. Entrants can follow the link here to submit their applications, with a helpful tutorial available on YouTube to guide them through the process.

Why the Fleet Safety Awards Matter
MasterDrive has long been committed to road safety, with initiatives designed to highlight and reward best practices in fleet management and driver safety. Herbert stressed the importance of recognising and celebrating those who make a difference in reducing road accidents. “While it’s crucial to acknowledge the devastating impact of road crashes, it’s equally important to recognise the positive efforts being made to change these statistics. The Fleet Safety Awards provide a platform to honour those taking action to improve safety and save lives.”

Herbert also underscored the power of positive reinforcement in promoting road safety. “We live in a time where people are inundated with messages, and it’s vital that road safety doesn’t become background noise. When individuals or organisations are celebrated for their effective safety strategies, it sends a powerful message that resonates far more than simply being told what not to do.”

By shining a light on good driving practices, MasterDrive hopes to inspire others to adopt similar behaviours. “The actions of ten responsible drivers can have a more profound impact than one reckless driver. Unfortunately, the latter often receives more attention when things go wrong. The Fleet Safety Awards aim to shift that narrative by showing appreciation for those who consistently contribute to safer roads.”

Encouraging Participation and Celebrating Success
MasterDrive is encouraging all fleets that prioritise safety to enter the Awards before time runs out. “The entire Awards process is designed to show appreciation for those who are committed to safety. The addition of the R2000 prize is just one more way to demonstrate that appreciation,” said Herbert.

As the third edition of the Fleet Safety Awards heads into its final judging phase, Herbert extended his thanks to those who have participated. “To all of those who have joined us in celebrating road safety, we thank you and wish you the best of luck in the final stages. For those who haven’t yet entered, we ask: What reason do you have to not take part?”

The Fleet Safety Awards not only recognise excellence but also serve as a vital reminder of the collective efforts needed to make roads safer for all. By celebrating those who lead by example, MasterDrive hopes to inspire a lasting change in the way drivers approach safety on the roads.
