Kia has announced the launch details for its updated Picanto model in the UK, starting at a competitive price of £15,595. The simplified four-tier lineup—‘2’, ‘GT-Line’, ‘3’, and ‘GT-Line S’—is designed to cater to a variety of preferences and budgets. Customers can choose between two efficient petrol engines and several transmission options, underscoring Kia’s commitment to the affordable A-segment market.

The new Picanto, now open for orders with deliveries starting in July, boasts a significant mid-life upgrade that enhances its appeal in the compact car sector. It remains a popular choice in the UK, making up over 13% of Kia’s sales last year, and accounting for more than a fifth of all A-segment cars sold nationally.

This latest iteration introduces a bold exterior redesign and substantial interior enhancements, reflecting design elements seen in Kia’s flagship models. Features such as new vertical headlights and a striking lightbar add to its contemporary look, while the interior offers modern technologies like Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, and an 8-inch touchscreen navigation.

Engine options include a three-cylinder 1.0-litre and a four-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine, both engineered for reduced CO2 emissions and improved fuel efficiency. The Picanto is available with a standard five-speed manual transmission, or an optional five-speed automated manual transmission across all variants.

The full range of the new Picanto comes generously equipped, maintaining Kia’s tradition of offering substantial value at each price point. Standard features across the lineup include automatic headlight control, advanced driver-assistance systems like forward collision avoidance, and a comprehensive suite of connectivity options.

The exterior is available in seven striking colors, with options for standard and premium paint finishes. The interior across the variants includes high-quality materials and thoughtful amenities, ensuring comfort and convenience for all passengers.

Kia also continues to offer attractive financing options for the new Picanto, including a 7.9% APR and a £1,000 finance deposit contribution on a PCP deal. Additionally, all models come with Kia’s renowned seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, reinforcing the brand’s confidence in their product.

With this refresh, the Kia Picanto not only sustains its legacy of affordability and reliability but also enhances its position as a compelling choice for drivers in the competitive small car market.
