(SOUTH AFRICA) March 7, 2011 – The past weekend was an eventful one with Mark Pilgrim broadcasting the KIA Take40 SA live from the back of his KIA Sorento, whilst traveling to 4 different malls in Gauteng in support of the 8th Annual CANSA (The Cancer Association of South Africa) Shavathon on 5 March 2011.

2011 marks the 80th Anniversary for CANSA and so it was encouraging to note that 2011 CANSA Shavaton proved to be very successful with many people attending and participating from all over the country. Apart from the Gauteng shopping centres visited in the Gauteng region, the 94.7 Ground Patrol broadcasted live from the Western Cape as well.

During the live broadcast of the KIA Take40 SA on Saturday, KIA Motors South Africa was privileged to donate R100 000 to CANSA in support of this Cancer awareness initiative. Upon announcing this donation, KMSA CEO Ray Levin expressed his hope that other corporates in South Africa would match and even better his donation so that more resources could be made available to those who dedicate themselves to improving the quality of life to those affected by cancer.
