STAMFORD, CT – 12 November 2025 – Imagine stepping into your car and feeling like you’ve entered a home theatre. Until recently, that kind of immersive, true-to-life visual experience was reserved for the living room. But as vehicles evolve into sophisticated digital hubs, consumers demand more than functionality—they expect cinematic-quality visuals on the move. HARMAN, the automotive technology leader and subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., is answering that call. Today, the company announces that its Ready Display product is the first to achieve HDR10+ Automotive certification, establishing a new industry benchmark for in-vehicle display performance.

A New Standard in Automotive Visuals

HARMAN collaborated with Samsung and Panasonic to help define the HDR10+ Automotive technology specification, shaping how high dynamic range (HDR) content should be experienced in vehicles. Developed by HDR10+ Technologies LLC, the certification ensures that in-cabin displays deliver HDR content with unmatched fidelity—even in challenging lighting conditions.

To earn this distinction, displays undergo rigorous evaluations, confirming their ability to deliver cinematic visuals with consistent brightness, contrast, and colour accuracy across all lighting conditions and viewing angles. The certification also validates HDR10+ “Adaptive” capabilities, which dynamically adjust brightness and colour based on ambient light. Whether driving under the midday sun or city streetlights, the display maintains a consistent, true-to-life viewing experience.

With this milestone, HARMAN offers the industry’s first HDR10+ Automotive certified display, allowing drivers and passengers to enjoy visuals with cinematic depth, detail, and consistency anywhere.

The HARMAN Difference

“We’ve long envisioned bringing the living room experience into the car,” said Shilpa Dely, Vice President and Ready Display Business Lead, HARMAN International. “Earning the world’s first HDR10+ Automotive certification is how we’re delivering on that vision—setting a new benchmark for immersive, in-cabin display quality that automakers and consumers can rely on.”

Powered by Samsung’s Neo QLED technology, HARMAN Ready Display is engineered to be both visually brilliant and dynamically intelligent. The NQ3, NQ5, and NQ7 series are designed to adapt to ever-changing cabin lighting conditions, from harsh midday sunlight to subtle city glows. Intelligent image algorithms optimize contrast, brightness, and colour in real time, ensuring an uncompromised viewing experience for every passenger.

Benefits for Automakers and Consumers

For automakers, HDR10+ Automotive certification offers a trusted path to differentiation, delivering world-class in-cabin experiences that resonate with tech-savvy consumers. For drivers and passengers, the benefits are immediate and tangible: uncompromised visual quality on every journey. Whether catching up on a favourite show while charging, entertaining children in the backseat, or navigating with enhanced clarity, Ready Display transforms the car into a destination for immersive experiences, making every moment in the cabin as compelling as the content itself.

Beyond entertainment, these displays lay the groundwork for adaptive interfaces that enhance safety, usability, and comfort, ensuring every ride feels effortless, intuitive, and extraordinary.
