From Concept To Reality Renaults Groundbreaking Master H2 Tech Prototype Debuts At Iaa Transportation 1

Renault has taken a bold step into the future of commercial transport with the unveiling of the all-new Master H2-Tech Prototype at the IAA Transportation in Hannover. This groundbreaking vehicle marks the latest evolution in Renault’s Master line-up, complementing the existing electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) models with a state-of-the-art hydrogen-powered variant.

The Renault Master has long been a stalwart in the European van market, renowned for its reliability and versatility. With the introduction of the Master H2-Tech, Renault extends its commitment to multi-energy solutions, ensuring that this new prototype upholds the strengths that have cemented the Master’s position as a market leader.

A Multi-Energy Platform with a French Touch

Uniquely, the new Renault Master is the only vehicle in its class to be entirely produced in France. The Master’s multi-energy platform—encompassing internal combustion, electric, and hydrogen—benefits from an integrated manufacturing process at Renault’s Batilly plant near Metz. This facility is notable for producing not only the van’s various body types but also its engines, gearboxes, and batteries. Remarkably, 84% of its suppliers are based in France, underscoring Renault’s commitment to local production and economic impact.

The Hydrogen Revolution

Scheduled for market release in 2025, the Master H2-Tech Prototype represents a world premiere in hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles. Developed through HYVIA—a joint venture between Renault Group and Plug—the Master H2-Tech is set to offer zero-emission performance without compromising on functionality. This innovation reflects Renault’s approach to hydrogen as a viable alternative to traditional fuels, emphasizing reliability and operational efficiency.

Unmatched Range and Efficiency

The Master H2-Tech stands out with an impressive range of up to 700 kilometers (WLTP*) on a single charge, a figure that sets a new benchmark in its segment. Its rapid refueling time of just five minutes further enhances its appeal, making it a practical choice for professionals who require dependable, long-distance performance.

Designed to cater to a range of professional needs, the hydrogen variant will be available in various configurations, including van, floor cab, and chassis cab versions. Each model can be customized to meet the specific demands of different industries, with support from Renault Pro+ approved bodybuilders.

A Comprehensive H2 Ecosystem

Renault’s commitment to hydrogen extends beyond just the vehicle itself. The Master H2-Tech will benefit from a dedicated network of H2-Tech dealers, trained to handle the unique requirements of hydrogen vehicles. Furthermore, the Master H2-Tech will be integrated into Renault’s existing commercial vehicle range, supported by the brand’s extensive commercial expertise and a comprehensive H2 ecosystem developed by HYVIA.

This ecosystem includes hydrogen vans, H2 refueling stations, and carbon-free hydrogen supply, all designed to support and enhance the adoption of hydrogen technology in the commercial sector.

The Renault Master H2-Tech Prototype is more than just a new model; it represents a significant leap towards a zero-emission future in commercial transport, building on Renault’s decades-long leadership in electric vehicles and its pioneering efforts in hydrogen mobility.
