Le Mans, France – 13 June 2025 – On the eve of the world’s most iconic endurance race, Ferrari unveiled a new pinnacle of motorsport-inspired personalisation: the 296 Speciale with Piloti Ferrari configuration. Revealed at the hallowed grounds of the Circuit de la Sarthe ahead of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, this exclusive evolution of the 296 GTB honours the marque’s recent triumphs in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and celebrates the invaluable role of Ferrari’s client-racing community.

Developed under the bespoke Tailor Made programme, the 296 Speciale Piloti Ferrari is a tribute to both the relentless spirit of endurance racing and the clients who live it from behind the wheel. It channels the victorious DNA of the 499P Hypercar, which secured back-to-back Le Mans wins in 2023 and 2024, marking Ferrari’s dramatic return to the top class of endurance racing after a 50-year hiatus.

A Livery Steeped in Victory

Dressed in one of four distinctive racing-inspired hues — Rosso Scuderia, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona, and Argento Nürburgring — the 296 Speciale Piloti Ferrari instantly distinguishes itself with a livery derived from the 499P. Signature elements include the Giallo Modena accents, a hand-painted WEC logo, and the Italian tricolore emblazoned on the front bumper. Clients can further personalise their cars with a racing number — the debut example at Le Mans proudly wears #51, in tribute to the trio of Pier Guidi, Calado, and Giovinazzi who delivered Ferrari’s first overall Le Mans win in half a century.

This is more than a livery — it’s a mobile homage to endurance excellence and the community of drivers who keep Ferrari’s racing flame alive beyond the Scuderia.

Racing Spirit Within

Inside the cabin, the motorsport connection deepens. Thermoformed black Alcantara® racing seats are adorned with inserts made from the same fire-retardant material used in official race suits. The chosen racing number is meticulously reproduced on interior carbon-fibre elements, while the technical metal footwell and carbon door sills can be customised with dedications and details that reflect each owner’s personal journey.

Every detail — tactile, visual, and functional — is designed to immerse the driver in Ferrari’s competitive heritage and foster a visceral sense of belonging to an elite cadre of passionate racers.

The 296 Speciale: Performance Amplified

At its core, the 296 Speciale is the most driver-focused iteration of Ferrari’s mid-rear-engined berlinetta to date. Building upon the already exceptional 296 GTB, the Speciale version pushes boundaries with an 880 cv plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a lightweight 120° V6 twin-turbo engine with a high-performance electric motor. Borrowing technology from Formula 1, the internal combustion engine has been lightened and reinforced, while the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission benefits from a new Ferrari fast shift strategy that maximises electric torque and delivers instantaneous gear changes.

With 20% more downforce, reduced weight, and a revised chassis, the 296 Speciale promises unmatched precision and exhilaration on the track. Innovations such as rear gamma wings, suspended splitters, and a widened diffuser elevate both its aerodynamic efficiency and its aesthetic aggression.

Inspired by a Champion: The 499P

The muse behind the Piloti Ferrari configuration, the Ferrari 499P, is itself a masterstroke of endurance engineering. With a 680 cv hybrid powertrain, carbon-fibre monocoque, and all-wheel drive system that activates above 190 km/h, the 499P embodies Ferrari’s technological ambition and racing prowess. Victories at Le Mans in 2023 and 2024 reaffirmed Ferrari’s place at the zenith of endurance motorsport and breathed new life into its legend.

Tailor Made: A World of Personalisation

The debut of the 296 Speciale Piloti Ferrari also underscores the enduring appeal of Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme — a realm where personal vision meets racing pedigree. Guided by expert designers and drawing on the collections Classica, Inedita, and Scuderia, clients can create truly bespoke Ferraris that echo their identities and passions. For those who race, the Piloti Ferrari configuration is the ultimate expression of belonging — a tribute to a lifestyle built around precision, performance, and pride.

The 296 Speciale Piloti Ferrari is not merely a collector’s car — it’s a symbol of shared victories, lived experiences, and the powerful bond between Ferrari and its most devoted drivers. Its presence at Le Mans, alongside the roar of the 499P, cements its role in the ongoing story of a brand where racing isn’t just heritage — it’s heartbeat.
