Nissan Motor GB (NMGB) has announced the appointment of Ed Jones as its new Sales Director, effective 16th June 2025. His return comes at a pivotal moment for the brand as it gears up for the launch of new electric and e-POWER models, reinforcing Nissan’s leadership in the electrified vehicle market.
Jones re-joins Nissan after seven years with Audi UK, where he held key leadership positions, including National Contract Hire and Leasing Manager and, most recently, overseeing UK Sales Operations. His extensive expertise spans dealer operations, fleet sales, and electric vehicle product strategy—areas that will be instrumental as Nissan strengthens its position in the evolving automotive landscape.
Reflecting on his new role, Jones expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m delighted to be returning at such an exciting time. Nissan was the only brand with two models in the top five best-sellers in 2024, and with increased market share and double-digit sales growth, it’s a brand with real momentum in 2025. With Nissan’s rich heritage in innovation, I look forward to contributing to the success of the brand and working closely with colleagues across the retailer network.”
His arrival coincides with Nissan’s preparations for the highly anticipated launch of the next-generation British-built LEAF, which will join the best-selling Qashqai and Juke at the heart of Nissan’s UK operations. The brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability remains a driving force, and Jones’ leadership is expected to play a crucial role in capitalising on this momentum.

Mayra González, Divisional Vice President of Marketing and Sales Europe, welcomed Jones to the team, highlighting his strategic importance: “I’m delighted to welcome Ed to our team. His experience and expertise in all areas of UK sales will be invaluable as we look to capitalise on some exciting new product launches. Ed will help accelerate our business transformation plans and lead our sales and dealer teams to continued success in the future.”
Jones succeeds Michael Auliar, who leaves Nissan at the end of March to pursue another opportunity. González extended her gratitude to Auliar, stating: “We thank Michael for his significant contribution to Nissan in markets including the UK, Nordics, and regional HQ, and we wish him well in his future endeavours.”
With a wealth of experience and a clear vision for Nissan’s future, Ed Jones’ return marks an exciting chapter for the brand. As the automotive industry shifts further toward electrification, his leadership will be instrumental in ensuring Nissan remains at the forefront of innovation and sales success.
