LONDON, 28 August 2025 – Collecting Cars has unveiled Sealed Bids, an exclusive new auction format designed to bring privacy, efficiency, and premium marketing to the collector car market. The inaugural seven-day auctions are now live and will conclude on 4 September, with several headline cars showcased at the prestigious Salon Privé this week.

The debut line-up reflects the calibre of cars tailored for this discreet approach. Among the highlights is a delivery-mileage, unregistered Ferrari 812 Competizione finished in triple-layer Grigio Competizione with Giallo Fly accents. Also on offer is a VAT-qualifying 2013 RUF CTR3 Clubsport with just 143 miles from new—one of only seven Clubsport versions ever built. Further reinforcing Collecting Cars’ reputation as the leading online platform for Porsche sales, the very first Tuthill SCRS to be offered publicly—one of just 15 examples created—joins the roster, finished in Pascha Red with a bespoke leather interior.

Other exceptional entries include a Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, one of only 19 worldwide; a 2012 Lexus LFA, originally US-delivered and now based in Japan; and two Ferrari Dino 246 models—a concours-winning GTS in the UK and a freshly restored GT in Australia, one of only 35 ever finished in Giallo Dino.

Unlike traditional online auctions, Sealed Bids ensures absolute discretion. Bids remain entirely private, with only participants aware of their standing. The final price is disclosed solely to the winning bidder, preserving confidentiality and protecting future values. Sellers and buyers remain anonymous until the sale concludes.

Edward Lovett, founder of Collecting Cars, commented:
Sealed Bids is about combining our market-leading reach with the privacy collectors increasingly demand. Some of the most significant cars change hands away from public view, and now we’ve created a platform that delivers that discretion while leveraging the global marketing strength of Collecting Cars. The Ferrari 812 Competizione and the first Tuthill SCRS exemplify why this format matters—they can be sold comprehensively yet with complete confidentiality.

Since its launch in 2019, Collecting Cars has become one of the world’s most dynamic digital auction platforms, with more than 20,000 lots sold globally. Sealed Bids enhances this success with curated monthly consignments, targeted marketing, and a fully vetted buyer base. Winning bidders pay only the hammer price, while sellers benefit from a clear, fixed fee structure.

The first Sealed Bids auctions are open now and close on 4 September. Collecting Cars is also displaying select models from the launch line-up—including the Tuthill SCRS, Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, and RUF CTR3 Clubsport—at Salon Privé, Blenheim Palace, until 31 August.
