CHERY has entered the UK automotive arena with notable pace, registering 5,517 vehicle sales between 1 September and 31 December 2025 and securing a 1.09% market share in December alone. Independently verified by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the figures underline a confident start for a brand that has been present in the UK for only a matter of months.

This early traction reflects a launch strategy built around value, reassurance and a clearly defined product line-up. The CHERY TIGGO 7 and TIGGO 8 spearheaded the brand’s arrival, offering UK buyers a combination of contemporary design, advanced technology and family-friendly practicality. January 2026 marks another milestone with the arrival of the CHERY TIGGO 9 Super Hybrid in UK showrooms, while the more compact TIGGO 4 is set to broaden the portfolio later this year.

CHERY’s UK ambitions are underpinned by the strength of its global operation. Backed by Chery International, China’s largest vehicle exporter for 23 consecutive years, the brand brings considerable manufacturing scale and technical expertise to the market. This is reinforced locally by a rapidly expanding UK dealer network and a strong focus on long-term ownership confidence.

Every CHERY model sold in the UK is supported by a comprehensive 7-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty, alongside an 8-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty where applicable. RAC Home Start and roadside assistance for the first year, subject to annual servicing, further enhance peace of mind for customers considering a new entrant to the market.

The current range is positioned to appeal across multiple SUV segments. The CHERY TIGGO 7 is priced from £24,995 OTR, while the larger TIGGO 8 starts from £28,545 OTR. At the top of the line-up, the flagship TIGGO 9 is offered in a single, well-equipped specification from £43,105 OTR, with premium paint as the only optional extra.

Symbolically, 2026 aligns with the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Zodiac, a sign associated with energy, freedom and progress. For CHERY UK, the timing feels apt. According to Farrell Hsu, CHERY UK Country Director, the brand’s early success reflects growing confidence among British drivers.

“The Year of the Horse is all about energy, progress and forward momentum, and that’s exactly the spirit we’re seeing from UK drivers with CHERY,” Hsu said. “Our first months on the market have shown that when you combine technology, safety and reassurance, people take notice. With the TIGGO 9 now arriving and further models set to launch in 2026, CHERY is setting a strong pace for innovation and long-term growth.”

Having formally confirmed its UK market entry on 28 August 2025, CHERY now looks ahead with clear intent. With a strengthening product portfolio, expanding retail presence and a focus on customer reassurance, the brand is positioning itself not just for short-term gains, but for sustained growth and long-term brand equity in the UK market.
