Daimler Truck Southern Africa (DTSA) Deepens Educational Commitment with State-of-the-Art Computer Lab Donation
Pretoria, June 14, 2024 – Daimler Truck Southern Africa (DTSA) reaffirmed its dedication to education in South Africa with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art computer lab at Phelindaba Maths, Science, and ICT School of Specialisation (Phelindaba MSI SOS) in Atteridgeville. This initiative marks a significant milestone in DTSA’s ongoing partnership with the school, aimed at empowering learners and educators through enhanced technological resources.
The newly equipped computer lab features modern computers, screens, and a projector with a dedicated screen for instructional use, ensuring a conducive learning environment for the school’s 1526 enrolled students. DTSA’s involvement began in 2023 with the provision of essential educational materials, including Mathematical and English handbooks, laying the groundwork for this latest advancement.

In a collaborative effort, DTSA employees contributed through the company’s Employee Volunteer Programme, assisting in the refurbishment of the classroom and installation of the computer equipment. This hands-on approach underscores DTSA’s holistic support for Phelindaba MSI SOS beyond material donations, fostering a sustainable educational infrastructure.
Phelindaba MSI SOS, a no-fee public high school specializing in Maths, Science, and ICT, relies significantly on external support to supplement government funding. The donation from DTSA fulfills a critical need, enhancing educational outcomes by equipping students with essential computer literacy skills vital for future academic and professional pursuits.
