Further enriching the event, Bentley revealed details of upcoming special collections for 2024, inspired by Chinese culture, aimed at meeting the growing demand for personalized luxury vehicles in China. Ansar Ali, Mulliner and Motorsport Director at Bentley Motors, expressed excitement over the increasing interest in luxury personalization, which saw a significant spike in 2023.
The coachbuilt Bentley Batur, limited to just 18 units, was showcased for the first time in China. This two-seat grand tourer not only represents the pinnacle of Bentley’s engineering and design innovations but also introduces a new design language that will guide the future aesthetic of Bentley models. The Batur’s design features an extended bonnet and a revamped Bentley grille, creating a bold, forward-looking stance.
Mulliner’s bespoke capabilities were also on full display, with the one-of-one Continental GT Convertible S, designed with a surf-inspired theme, resonating particularly with the younger, vibrant clientele in China. This model’s design featured a Snow Quartz exterior and a ‘Green Room’ inspired cabin, creating a linkage with the exhilarating sport of surfing.
The exhibition also introduced the China-exclusive collections including the Koi Carp, Landscapes, and Ru Yi collections, each incorporating traditional Chinese symbols and artistry, demonstrating Mulliner’s deep engagement with local culture and craftsmanship.
Bentley’s commitment to customization and luxury was further exemplified by the Bentayga EWB Mulliner, which offered expansive cabin space and exclusive tri-tone interior color options, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that defines the Bentley brand.
