KYALAMI GRAND PRIX CIRCUIT PRESS RELEASE
The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit played host to Alfa Romeo on Saturday 28TH April.
The Alfa Romeo Kyalami Experience formed part of the Alfa Romeo Club of South Africa’s National Gathering, a week long event starting on 27th April and ending on the 1st May.
Apart from the various activities on the track, Alfa Romeo unveiled the exciting new Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 JTDm Q-tronic to the public. On hand for the unveiling was Fiat Auto SA CEO Mr Giorgio Gorelli and Commercial Director Oscar Rivoli. Recently crowned Miss Italia SA Ornella Stocchi and 1st princess Marcella Carleo and 2nd princess Lucia Mastrogiuseppe added a touch of glamour to the event.
Over 3000 people attended the day enjoying the various displays in the pit area. A dedicated children’s entertainment area allowed parents the opportunity to enjoy the range of cars on the circuit while the younger Alfisti were kept entertained. The full Alfa Romeo range formed part of a dealer display with the various clubs displaying numerous classic and more recent models ranging from the 1960’s to the 1990’s.
At mid day over 120 Alfa Romeos took to the track for a group photograph making the gathering on of the largest of its kind in Southern Africa.
By late afternoon over 500 guests had participated in test drives on the circuit giving all an opportunity to experience the exciting range of cars.
The Track Day was followed by an Alfa Romeo Club concourse held on Sunday in Edenvale and on Monday the 30th April over 60 cars visited the Fiat Auto SA head office in Midrand before embarking on a drive to Cullinan Mine.
