El Gouna, Egypt – Nissan Egypt is accelerating the future of mobility in Africa, showcasing its third-generation e-POWER technology on the Nissan QASHQAI and offering the continent’s first hands-on experience of the iconic New PATROL. These milestones highlight Nissan’s ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and performance in African markets.
QASHQAI e-POWER: Electric Drive Without the Charging Hassle
The latest QASHQAI e-POWER represents a breakthrough in electrified driving. Unlike conventional EVs, the e-POWER system uses a petrol engine solely to generate electricity, while propulsion is delivered entirely by the electric motor. This unique configuration eliminates range anxiety, providing an EV-like driving experience without the need for charging infrastructure—an ideal solution for markets where public charging remains limited.
The third-generation e-POWER elevates performance and efficiency to new levels. With a best-in-class fuel consumption of 4.6 L/100 km (WLTP) and CO₂ emissions of just 102 g/km, the QASHQAI e-POWER combines refinement with environmental responsibility. Its extended range of approximately 1,200 km, enhanced cabin quietness, and responsive acceleration set a new benchmark in the C-SUV segment, offering drivers the perfect balance of efficiency, comfort, and driving pleasure.
The QASHQAI e-POWER also features the sophisticated N-Design grade, including a panoramic roof and a 3D Around View Monitor (AVM), delivering a premium driving experience that blends technology, comfort, and style.
“With the QASHQAI e-POWER, Nissan keeps raising the bar in the C-SUV segment. Innovation is in our DNA, and this technology enriches our customers’ lives while providing an EV-like experience without compromise,” said Katherine Zachary, Vice President of International Communications at Nissan AMIEO.
New PATROL: Strength and Capability Unleashed
Alongside this technological leap, Nissan Egypt presents the New PATROL—a symbol of strength, capability, and premium SUV design—now available for the first time in Africa. Building on its global reputation, the PATROL delivers commanding performance across diverse terrains, reflecting Nissan’s leadership in engineering robust and versatile vehicles for discerning drivers.
Together, the QASHQAI e-POWER and New PATROL embody Nissan’s dual commitment to innovation and performance, catering to both efficiency-minded urban drivers and adventure-seeking SUV enthusiasts.

Red Sea SUV Drive: Immersive Experience for Media and Partners
To celebrate these advancements, Nissan Egypt hosted the Red Sea SUV Drive, an exclusive two-day event in El Gouna bringing together African media, dealers, and partners. Attendees enjoyed immersive test drives, expert panels on Nissan’s electrification strategy, and networking opportunities, providing a firsthand view of how Nissan’s innovations are shaping the future of mobility.
“This event underscores Nissan’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of African markets. The Nissan Red Sea SUV Drive affirms our deep belief in the importance of the Egyptian market and its pivotal role in the region,” said Jordi Vila, Nissan Africa President.
Mohamed Samad, Managing Director of Nissan Egypt, added:
“The Egyptian customer seeks practical and efficient solutions without compromising driving pleasure or strong performance, which the new generation of the e-POWER technology delivers perfectly. This reflects Nissan Egypt’s commitment to expanding our product portfolio and addressing evolving consumer needs, securing our position as the number one automotive brand in Egypt for over two years.”
A Legacy of Innovation
Nissan first introduced the e-POWER electrified powertrain in Japan in 2017, followed by the second-generation QASHQAI in Europe in 2022. The third-generation system, launched in Europe in September, delivers even greater refinement, lower consumption, and reduced emissions without compromising performance. The QASHQAI achieved a 7.2 L/100 km real-world fuel consumption rating, matching the best in its segment according to ADAC.
With over 1.5 million e-POWER units sold globally across 65 countries, Nissan’s commitment to the Japanese principle of Kaizen—continuous improvement—ensures cleaner, more efficient, and more refined vehicles for drivers worldwide.
Nissan Egypt is not just bringing vehicles to African roads; it is delivering a vision of sustainable, high-performance mobility that combines practicality, innovation, and excitement for every driver.
