Milton Keynes, 13 November 2025 – CUPRA is redefining what a high-performance hatchback can be with the unveiling of the new CUPRA Leon VZ TCR, the most powerful front-wheel-drive Leon ever built. Born directly from CUPRA’s global racing pedigree, this limited-edition model brings authentic motorsport DNA to the street.

“The CUPRA Leon VZ TCR is a bold expression of what happens when racing meets road-going precision,” says Dr. Werner Tietz, VP of R&D at CUPRA. “Born from the track and crafted for the street, this limited edition captures CUPRA’s drive for performance, individuality, and the thrill of pushing limits.”

Racing Power Meets Road-Ready Performance

At the heart of the Leon VZ TCR lies a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 325PS (239kW) and 420Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. An integrated electronically controlled front differential lock (VAQ) ensures that all this power is delivered with precision and control, propelling the hatchback from 0–100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, with an unrestricted top-speed capability that allows drivers to fully explore its potential.

The chassis is tuned for racing precision, with Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) offering millisecond-level responsiveness and configurable driving profiles. Akebono six-piston brakes, progressive steering, and high-performance 245 mm tyres complete a driving package designed to thrill at every turn. Meanwhile, the quad copper exhaust system delivers an unmistakable soundtrack, underlining the car’s track-bred character.

Motorsport Heritage in Every Detail

The CUPRA Leon VZ TCR has already made its mark in championships across the globe, claiming titles in TCR Europe, TCR UK, TCR Mexico, and TCR France, as well as historic wins in China and in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in the United States. These victories underscore CUPRA’s engineering excellence, reliability, and competitive spirit.

This racing legacy informs every aspect of the Leon VZ TCR. The limited edition is built with removable rear seats, a strut bar, integrated net, and lightweight alloy wheels, creating a laser-focused driving environment. Exclusive CUPBucket seats with four-strap harnesses and a laser-etched serial number emphasize its exclusivity.

Aerodynamic enhancements, including a distinctive roof spoiler, front and rear splitters, side skirts, rear diffuser, and black carbon-fibre mirror caps, amplify both performance and visual impact. The car’s subtle VZ TCR logo and a stylized graphic along its sides pay homage to the speed and dynamism of CUPRA’s racing DNA.

Limited to just 499 units, the Leon VZ TCR is a tribute to every racing Leon ever built—a celebration of performance, passion, and history. Each vehicle is designed, developed, and produced in Barcelona, at CUPRA’s headquarters in Martorell, and will reach customers by the end of 2026.

Previewing the Power: CUPRA Leon VZ

Before the VZ TCR hits the streets, CUPRA introduces the CUPRA Leon VZ, a limited-edition model that shares the same 325PS engine. With refined design touches, including exclusive copper quad exhausts, this model brings CUPRA Racing’s DNA to the everyday driver. Limited to 1,500 units, the Leon VZ launches in the first quarter of 2026, offering enthusiasts an early taste of CUPRA’s track-inspired performance.

A Brand Driven by Passion and Progress

Since its inception in 2018, CUPRA has pushed the automotive industry with radical designs, high-performance engineering, and boundary-pushing creativity. In just seven years, the brand has launched seven distinct models and sold over 800,000 vehicles globally. Every CUPRA reflects the brand’s commitment to performance, individuality, and emotional connection—whether it’s the CUPRA Formentor, CUPRA Born, or upcoming CUPRA Raval.

CUPRA’s ethos extends beyond cars; it’s a conviction shared by the CUPRA Tribe—ambassadors who challenge convention and celebrate emotion in motion. This philosophy is visible both on the road and on the track, where CUPRA continues to redefine what it means to deliver passion through performance.
