London, 5 November 2025 – The Alpine A290 has taken centre stage on the silver screen, starring in Paramount Pictures’ high-octane thriller The Running Man, which premiered in the UK last night at Leicester Square’s Odeon Luxe ahead of its general release on 14 November. The award-winning electric hot hatch, finished in striking Tornado Grey, was also on display at the premiere, giving fans a chance to see the car up close before its public debut.

The A290 takes the wheel for actress Emilia Jones, who portrays Amelia Williams, a character whose privileged world is shaken when she encounters the film’s protagonist, Ben Richards, played by Glen Powell. Behind the wheel of her Alpine, Williams finds herself thrust into the heart of the film’s relentless action as Richards fights for survival in the deadly reality game show, “The Running Man.”

Paramount deployed three Alpine A290s during filming across Romania and the United Kingdom, supported by 17 spare body parts, including doors, wings, windows, and lights. These extras ensured that director Edgar Wright and his team could capture the car from every angle while maintaining continuity across the three-month shoot. The Tornado Grey A290 featured futuristic trim and technical embellishments, reinforcing the movie’s sleek, near-future aesthetic.

“The Alpine A290 has had star quality from the moment it was launched, and for Hollywood to recognise that and put it at the heart of the incredible The Running Man movie is a great honour,” said Nicola Burnside, Brand Director at Alpine Cars. “It was a delight to supply the cars for this amazing movie – and extra-special to put A290 on display so that the cast, crew, and VIPs could get up close with our award-winning electric hot hatch ahead of its premiere in the iconic Leicester Square.”

The film’s plot sees Richards competing for survival in a brutal reality show, broadcast live to a blood-thirsty public. Williams’ encounter with him, while driving the Alpine A290, is pivotal as both characters navigate danger at every turn, showcasing the car’s agility, performance, and futuristic design in pulse-pounding sequences.

Since its launch, the Alpine A290 has earned widespread acclaim, winning seven awards across Europe. Highlights include the prestigious European Car of the Year Trophy for 2025 and being named ‘Best Fun EV’ by Autocar, affirming its blend of sportiness, cutting-edge EV technology, and striking design. With its star-making Hollywood debut now complete, customers can order their own Alpine A290 and experience the electric thrill for themselves.

The Alpine A290 is more than a car – it’s a rising icon of automotive design and technology, now celebrated not only on the roads of Europe but also on the streets of Hollywood.
