Copenhagen, Denmark – 09 October 2025 – Nissan’s pioneering spirit in electric mobility takes a bold leap forward with the debut of the all-new third-generation LEAF. Proudly built in Britain at Nissan’s world-class Sunderland EV plant, this flagship model is designed to combine exhilarating performance, cutting-edge technology, and unmatched range for modern drivers.
The LEAF, the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle when it launched in Europe in 2011, now arrives with a striking new design, an elite range of up to 386 miles*, and 150kW rapid charging, setting a new benchmark for confidence in longer-distance journeys.
“The all-new LEAF embodies Nissan’s DNA: smart, sleek, and stylish, built for the next generation of EV drivers,” said Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President, Product and Services Planning, Nissan AMIEO. “With an outstanding range and fully integrated connected technologies, it delivers the convenience, excitement, and reassurance our customers demand.”
Sleek Aerodynamic Design
Designed at Nissan’s Global Design Studio in Atsugi, Japan, the all-new LEAF blends striking aesthetics with aerodynamic efficiency. A drag coefficient of just 0.25 not only gives the car a commanding presence but also contributes to impressive real-world range, including up to 269 miles at motorway speeds.
Key design highlights include:
- Flush-mounted door handles
- Sculpted surfaces and a flowing roofline
- Unique 3D tail light signature
- Optional 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels
- Dimming panoramic roof with subtle LEAF-embossed detailing
The interior balances practicality with sophistication. Up to 437 litres (VDA) of cargo space, a power liftgate, and roof rail options make the cabin family-ready, while seven expressive colours – including signature Luminous Teal – allow drivers to personalise their LEAF to suit commuting, urban adventures, or weekend getaways.
Elite Range and Smarter Charging
Drivers can choose from two battery options: 52kWh (up to 271 miles WLTP) or 75kWh (up to 386 miles WLTP*). On the highway, the 75kWh variant offers up to 269 miles at 70 mph with energy consumption as low as 4.5 miles/kWh, minimising charging stops on longer trips. Fast charging via 150kW DC capability can recover up to 273 miles in just 30 minutes.
Adding further versatility, the LEAF features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality with 3.1kW output, allowing drivers to power devices or even outdoor appliances. The model is also Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) ready for future energy-sharing capabilities.

Engaging EV Performance
Built on the CMF-EV modular platform shared with the Nissan Ariya, the LEAF delivers an effortless blend of performance and refinement. MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension ensure a smooth, agile drive across city streets and highways. Key driving features include:
- e-Pedal Step for intuitive one-pedal driving
- ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link for adaptive cruise and speed-sensitive automation
- 3D Around View Monitor with Invisible Hood View and Front Wide View
- Regenerative braking with paddle shifts for energy recovery
The refined electric motor produces up to 215hp and 355Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–62mph in just 7.6 seconds (Sport Mode / 75kWh battery), while maintaining exceptional efficiency.
Connected and Safe
The LEAF’s twin 14.3” displays, combined with NissanConnect with Google built-in, transform the cabin into a fully digital and connected cockpit. Drivers benefit from:
- Google Maps with In-Car Route Planner and automated charge journey planning
- Google Assistant for hands-free control of navigation, media, and climate
- Google Play Store for apps, streaming, and productivity tools
- NissanConnect Services app for remote battery checks, climate control, and journey planning
Safety remains paramount. From Intelligent Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Intervention to Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Keep Assist, the LEAF’s advanced systems ensure confidence in all conditions, while 3D Around View Monitors and Invisible Hood View make parking and navigating tight spaces effortless.
Built in Britain, Ready for Europe
The all-new Nissan LEAF is manufactured in Sunderland using 20% renewable energy, reflecting Nissan’s commitment to sustainable production. Pre-orders will begin before the end of 2025, with first deliveries scheduled for Spring 2026.
With unmatched range, pioneering technology, and a bold new design, the Nissan LEAF sets a new standard for the electric vehicle market – a true testament to Nissan’s vision for smarter, cleaner, and more exhilarating driving.
