Johannesburg, South Africa – September 2025 – Spring has arrived with a surge of success for Suzuki Auto South Africa, as the brand celebrates a new all-time sales record.

According to the latest figures released by industry body naamsa, Suzuki sold 6,534 new passenger and light commercial vehicles in August 2025. This achievement surpasses its previous record of 6,399 units, set in January this year, by 135 vehicles.

Dealer sales once again formed the bulk of the volume, with 4,823 units delivered through the national network, while fleet, rental and government channels added a further 1,711 units. The result secures Suzuki’s position as South Africa’s second-best-selling vehicle manufacturer, a title it has consistently held throughout 2025.

Swift Leads the Charge

At the forefront of Suzuki’s stellar performance was the popular fourth-generation Swift, which achieved 2,101 sales to finish as the country’s third-best-selling passenger vehicle for the month. The Swift has become a firm favourite with South African motorists, thanks to its balance of affordability, style and driving fun.

The model also drew crowds at the recent Festival of Motoring, where visitors enjoyed high-speed laps around Kyalami International Grand Prix Circuit in the passenger seat alongside professional racing drivers.

Close behind the Swift was the Fronx crossover SUV with 1,210 units, followed by the family-focused Ertiga MPV with 1,055 units. The Baleno hatchback added 500 sales, while the compact and cost-conscious S-Presso secured 433 units to complete Suzuki’s top five performers.

Just shy of the top five was the adventurous Jimny 4×4, which sold 326 units. With the much-anticipated Jimny Gathering 2025 taking place from 25–28 September at Louvain Guest Farm in the Outeniqua Mountains, many of these vehicles are expected to join one of the year’s most unique motoring celebrations.
